This is what Dr3am Ville and Mukatiende aims to showcase on their new single, Newayo.The multi-genre Kenyan group teams up with Zimbabwe’s best vocalist and producer to bring this infectious African classic fusion in a song that clearly portrays the beautiful yet forgotten sounds of our motherland. While paying tribute to some of the greatest musicians to ever come out of Africa like Fela Kuti, Tabuley and Bi. Kidude on the bridge, the song also highlights some of the best cultural gems that make our motherland just unique.
To them it is just a “Dark Continent”, but to us, this is our home. The best we have ever known.
